Marchand & Burch Chardonnay evolved from the desire of Jeff Burch and Pascal Marchand to make wine of great presence and character by applying the traditional techniques of Burgundy to the unique terroir of the new world. It was in the remote Great Southern region where Pascal felt the nascent vineyards could give the most promising expression to this idea, and our winemakers have taken up this ethos over 15 years to produce a memorable series of wines.

Vintage
A delicate perfume of citrus blossom, jasmine and vanilla pod greets the nose, opening into lifted aromas of Meyer lemon, white peach and ripe nectarine. Hints of crushed gravel and struck match add savoury intrigue and complexity. The palate is finely layered and textural, driven by fresh citrus acidity that leans toward white grapefruit and zesty lemon. Subtle undertones of green pear unfold alongside hints of fig, macadamia and creamy nougat. Persistent and linear, the finish is long and refined, shaped by a fine chalky tannin that lingers with elegance.

Serve with risotto verde or an elegant antipasto of vitello tonnato with fried capers and crusty bread.
