The 2024 Marchand & Burch Village Chardonnay is a masterpiece of assemblage – a perfectly judged marriage of parcels matured in older, large-format French oak barrels and stainless-steel tanks has liberated a seamless cuvee with vibrancy, drive and elegance enhancing the enjoyment of each glass in equal measure. Varietal signatures of white grapefruit and nectarine, fragrant field flowers and citrus blossom inform a deluxe aromatic profile, while a well-proportioned palate interweaves citrus and orchard fruits with a complement of freshly blanched almonds. Full-flavoured but lithe, this Chardonnay has immediate appeal and an exciting future in the cellar.
