2025 Howard Park Miamup Sauvignon Blanc Semillon

Perky as anything and so refreshing as it’s full of lemon and limes, passionfruit and guava. A little herbaceous, in a good way, and saline-like acidity leaves the palate ready for another sip. It’s textbook sauvignon blanc semillon from Margaret River and done well.

The Sauvignon Blanc which contributed to this blend was sourced from the southern reaches of Margaret River, as that is where the team find “strong varietal intensity and natural high acidity”. The Semillon is more broadly sourced. Each component was vinified separately with a cool fermentation in stainless steel. A shimmering pale lemon/straw hue, this is a gentle and refined style of this famous white blend. The nose offers aromas weaving through citrus, some tropical notes, a touch of orange rind and nectarines. The wine is of medium length, with a line of clean acidity. Enjoy it over the next three to four years

The 2025 Miamup Sauvignon Blanc Semillon is grassy, spicy and attractive on the nose, with notes of freshly cut grass, gooseberry and green apple. The palate shows attractive tension and salinity, catapulting this out of the realms of tropical and into the halls of saline. This is very good indeed.

Pale lemon hue. Top nots of celery seed, gooseberry, lemon verbena, jalapeñ0, fresh cut grass, paw paw, preserved lemon, green pear, curry leaf and orange blossom. Balanced and juicy. Some earthy base layers from the SB with bright and tight Semillon citrus. Well put together and an exemplar of the blend.
