The continental and cooler climes of the Great Southern are favoured for the growing of Flint Rock Syrah. In the Frankland and Mount Barker subregions, where Syrah reigns, the wines display a great intensity of dark fruits with traces of spice, earth and soft tannins. Each subregion adds its own complexity, due to the soils, aspects, clones and microclimates unique to the respective sites.
Flint Rock Syrah is a layered, flavoursome and complex wine showcasing the quality of Great Southern Syrah grapes.

TASTING NOTE
Vintage
Garnet in colour with a lively bouquet of black and red fruits with subtle spice, musk and hibiscus notes. The palate is fleshy and mouth-filling with Satsuma plum, mulberry, boysenberry fruit flavours plus Hoisin sauce notes and sweet spice flavours. The blend of fruit from our Frankland River and Mount Barker vineyards really bring a sense of play and complexity with spiced, finely structured parcels of grapes combined with bold, primary flavoured parcels. 15% whole bunch fermentation adds wild depth of flavour and pleasant chewy tannins, balanced by refreshing natural acidity and fine-grained oak texture.
Food Match
A perfect partner for lamb moussaka, or pair with fried eggplant stuffed with manchego and fresh herbs.
Recommended Cellaring
Drink now or over the next 5 to 7 years.
