2018 Marchand & Burch Nuits-Saint-Georges

Our plots in Nuits encompass both the Northern end of the village bordering Vosne Romanée and the Southern slopes near Premeaux. Vineyards in these areas express different character and build an attractive complexity into this powerful wine. Dark cherry, blackberry and plum mingle with floral and vanilla perfumes. Maceration with whole bunches builds a suave and enticing texture in the mouth to complement a swell of powerful ripe fruit, and flavour is promoted and retained on the long finish. The wine has the inherent structure to age gracefully and engage with the expected development of satisfying mushroom, game and earth characters over time.
